That responsibility doesn’t stop at the hardware; it extends to every associate, every partner on a job site and every community we serve.

Our commitment to safety transcends our payroll. We believe in “Safety Without Borders” – actively contributing to more secure environments for other trades, project partners and building occupants.

Whether we are coordinating with general contractors or navigating active healthcare facilities, our mindset remains the same: Leave every environment safer than we found it. When safety is done right, everyone wins.

While many in our industry rely on outsourced safety programs or minimal oversight, we have made a deliberate investment in a robust, internal safety infrastructure.

• Dedicated Leadership: Our program is led by a full-time Safety Director, supported by a Safety Director Emeritus. This pairing brings together active field leadership with decades of institutional knowledge.
• Internal Discipline: We don’t treat safety as a compliance obligation; we treat it as a professional discipline. By keeping our safety expertise in-house, we ensure it is never diluted.

Ownership also means pride.  Pride in our work, pride in our reputation, and pride in our appearance.

A culture is only as strong as its education. We prioritize accountability through continuous certification across every level of our organization:

• OSHA 30 for Leadership: All foremen are required to complete OSHA 30 training, with participation rates steadily climbing across the company.
• Competent Person Certification: Our superintendents and service managers are trained and certified as Competent Persons, authorized to identify and eliminate hazards immediately.
• LMS Integration: We are currently implementing a sophisticated Learning Management System (LMS) to automate, track and elevate certifications. This ensures that every associate is compliant and continuously improving.
• Measurable Input: We track and report annual safety training hours, focusing on the effort put in before a project begins.

Safety at Wiginton is backed by real-time visibility and objective oversight:

• Advanced Inspection Software: We use specialized tech to document and resolve observations in the field instantly.
• Third-Party Audits: We voluntarily submit to independent safety audits to ensure an objective evaluation of our performance.
• Leadership Presence: Routine job site inspections are conducted by both safety personnel and executive leadership to ensure standards are met regardless of project scale.

Wiginton has always given back to our industry and to our communities.  Whether donating fire sprinkler systems to worthy causes like Kid’s House or donating time and money to causes through our Wiginton Warriors group, we serve.  We also have a tradition of giving back to our local and National industry groups as a commitment to our mission of protecting lives and property.

The strongest safety programs focus on what drives results, not just what happened in the past. While industry metrics like TRIR, DART and EMR remain important benchmarks, they are “lagging” indicators.

We focus on leading indicators: training hours, inspection frequency and active engagement. True safety performance is built through the behaviors that prevent an incident from ever appearing on a spreadsheet.
